A Little More About Me …
Hi! I’m Martin Bijloos. I am a Master of Science in Physical Chemistry. I have 24 years of experience in the field studying solids, surfaces, liquids and gases.
A large portion of my career has gravitated around research, development, fabrication, testing, and application of infrared instruments, sensors, and cameras. I am well-versed in the workings and uses of FTIR spectrometers, monochromators, optics, and integration spheres. I have experience with many infrared light sources such as black bodies, LEDs, lasers, and broadband sources. I am also experienced in the use of advanced testing instruments such as semi-conductor analyzers, source meters, and oscilloscopes. All these components are essential in building test platforms for infrared sensors and imagers.
My well-rounded knowledge of chemical absorption bands, physical properties of materials, and radiometry helps me analyze and make sense of the infrared information obtained with infrared technologies. Through my experience, I also bring a much less common skill of programming and driving the infrared retina or imaging chip of a camera. I can do this and control and automate many other testing instruments by programming National Instruments hardware with LabView software.
Ultimately, what all this means is that I can help you understand how infrared light can be useful for you and help you develop and build a custom infrared testing platform or sensing system for your particular application.
